Cloudkid & The Mountain is a delightful new play for 5-8 year olds designed to support children’s mental health.

Created through a collaboration between theatre makers and child psychotherapists the production offers an original story, musical score, poetry and puppetry to bring its young audience on Cloudkids theraputic journey.

Cloudkid was born into a storm

A rip roar thunderhead of emotions they don’t know how to let off steam

One overcast day they meet The Mountain

A craggy, grounded mound who doesn’t run away, whatever firebolts

Cloudkid’s experiences allows children to empathise with the struggles that they and their peers may face when overwhelmed by
big feelings and troubling life experiences. The audience will playfully explore the healing experiences of mutual joy and relationships to change the way children relate, learn and love.

The first phase of production development has been generously supported by Arts Council England. The next phase is the creation of bespoke workshops for young people, supporting them with the issues in the piece whilst hearing their voices and experiences.
